BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- The Malheur County Sheriff's Office in eastern Oregon has identified the two men suspected of shooting a man in the back of the head Sunday.

The sheriff's office says deputies are looking for Daniel Bermudez Miranda, 35, of Ontario and Felimon Guillen Montaz, 22, of Payette. The sheriff says the two are not considered a threat to the general public, however, "we do not recommend making contact with them or endangering yourself in any way."

Investigators tell KBOI 2News the incident started with a car crash on Lincoln Drive, on the outskirts of Ontario. Deputies say the crash happened following some sort of struggle inside the vehicle.

Witnesses later told deputies they heard gunshots around the time of the crash, which happened shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday.

According to the Malheur County Sheriff, two men inside the car took off running in the snow, while a third man suffered a serious gunshot wound. Investigators say the shooting victim, a 30-year-old male, went to a nearby home for help, where homeowners called 911.

The victim is expected to recover.
