It's been a while since I did any reviews here! I've been getting figures, but a lot of them are domestic (US) Transformers...so they don't appear on the site here for reviewing. I could review them here technically, but I wouldn't be able to link them to any item here for promotion/tags. So I just have to wait until I get more imports (which I will be getting more of). Sorry for the delay in reviews!

From the "Black Rock Shooter" anime, this is the Inexhaustible Version of BRS:

Each photo can be clicked on to give a full-size view of the image, even if the image itself doesn't display.

Here's her in the box:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245840.jpeg

Released in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of a BRS illustration (as indicated on the box), this is a completely new design for BRS; one that was not in the anime series.

This figure is 1/8th scale, but the box is HUGE! It's mainly because of the way they packed it inside...but still, the box's size is a bit too big.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245842.jpeg

It's a bit hard to tell which side of the box is the front and which is the back as well; since they are very similar. Both sides look like they could be the front...the only real difference between them is one is for horizontal display and one is for vertical display.

Shockingly enough, for being a Japanese figure, both sides of the box have NO Japanese on them! Instead all of the text is in English only.

Sides of the box:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245843.jpeg

The sides of the box are, again, only in English. But this time they show off some better product shots, with close-ups of the figure and the base.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245841.jpeg

And again (like the front and back of the box), both sides of the box can be displayed either horizontally or vertically. I suppose since it is such a large box that they decided to give retailers and anyone who displays the box the option of which way they wanted it displayed.

The only Japanese on the box is actually on the bottom, where all of the legal information is. The top looks identical to this side, but zoomed in more.

GSC Bonus:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245844.jpeg

This version was pre-ordered directly from Good Smile Company, so it comes with a GSC bonus. There will more on this later at the end of the review.

Instructions:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245846.jpeg

There are actually 2 pieces of paper with this figure: The actual instructions and a special slip for a QR Code to get a free wallpaper for your PC and smartphone!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245905.png

The actual instructions are like Figma and Nendoroid instructions, in that they come in both English and Japanese (one on each side). The instructions with this figure are really necessary and well done. I was able to put her together with no trouble following the step-by-step guide.

Parts:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245845.jpeg

BRS comes with a lot of parts. Here's the list:

View spoilerHide spoiler-- BRS herself
-- Specially designed base
-- Top section of base
-- Energy beam/crystal with plugs on each end
-- 3 claws/stands
-- Wings
-- 2 figure wires
-- 1 USB power wire
-- Gun handle
-- Instructions with insert paper

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245847.jpeg

One thing to note is that the wings are fairly fragile (or at least not "play durable"), so they come packaged in this foam with bubble wrap to ensure it doesn't break during shipping.

Base:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245849.jpeg

The base comes in 2 parts: A top and a bottom. The top is just some molded broken rock shapes (very classic to BRS's look). But the bottom is the more interesting side. This is because this is actually an electronic base!

The base comes with a USB cord that plugs into it:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245848.jpeg

The instructions don't show exactly which side of the port goes up when plugging it in, but it only fits in one way. That being said, it is a VERY tight fit! It's hard to plug it in and remove it due to the hole being made to the exact size of the plug.

But there are small clips on the bottom that hold the plug wire into place, and there's a cut-out notch on the side of the base so that the wire can run out of it without inhibiting the base's flatness on the bottom.

Fully assembled:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245850.jpeg

Once you follow the step-by-step guide to putting her together, she is fully ready to go! One thing I don't like about the base though is that the wire is running out of the front of the base (from the angle it's supposed to be displayed from)...so that does look bad when the wire is attached. But if you're not going to have it plugged in, then you can just remove the wire and display it that way instead:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245851.jpeg

That does make for a much cleaner look without the USB wire. The figure is VERY tall once put together at about 18" tall! The base and gun stand are very sturdy and hold up the figure really well!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245852.jpeg

One thing to be careful of is the energy beam/crystal in the middle. It's VERY sharp! Those points are enough to poke your fingers and cut you if you are not careful! So use caution and hold it by the sides that aren't near points when putting it together! Also the two plugs on the crystal/beam are not used on the final figure; those can just stay with the rest of the packaging.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245853.jpeg

The figure's parts are all made out of really sturdy and strong materials. Most of them even have metal in them, to support the figure's weight and tall proportions. These metal parts are in the feet of BRS herself and the wire going from her to the gun.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245854.jpeg

The figure does look good from any angle; it's one that I would want to put on a Lazy Susan turntable for sure. The details are really impressive from any angle, on any part of her.

Close-up:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245855.jpeg

Once again GSC's attention to detail really shows with this figure. From the face to the weathered symbols on the wings...everything is really well done here. No paint runs or mishaps or errors from what I saw anywhere on her.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245857.jpeg

The base is just as nicely done. I've kind of grown accustomed to Figma and Nendoroid bases from GSC, with their simple plain designs...but this one is amazing! The gun stand with the beam is just so nicely done! And the actual base looks good too!

Light-up feature:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245858.jpeg

As mentioned before, this figure comes with a USB cord. The cord is for a light-up feature! The base lights up when plugged in! There are no other features when plugged in, though...only lights.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245860.jpeg

I apologize for the lower quality of the photos here; it was hard to get it to focus on her when the lights were out. I took photos both in the dark and in the light with the base lit up, but neither one turned out great.

Still, the base gives off a really cool blue glow that is very bright too! It lights up the crystal/beam really well too!

Compared to other figures:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245866.jpeg

Since she is so tall, I compared her to some other GSC BRS figures, including Nendoroid BRS TV Version, Figma BRS Blade Version, and Popup Parade BRS.

GSC Bonus:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3245865.jpeg

As mentioned before too, she comes with a bonus when ordered from GSC directly. This was a tapestry wallscroll! It's the same artwork that was used to make the figure.

As part of a collection:

Since there are 52 figures in the set, it's a really large collection and equally large display for them. I couldn't easily get all of them in 1 photo, so I did my best. They are on a L-shaped display, so I apologize for the weird angle of the photo.

But, to make it easier to see them, I did take closer-up photos of them in sections. If you want to see that, check out this article: blog/53766

Overall:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/07/3246008.png

A really well done celebration of Black Rock Shooter! This is a great figure, with a neat light-up feature and really cool design! The base looks good and the quality is perfect!

The only small gripes I have would be that the cord should have been in the back of the base instead of the front and shouldn't have been such a tight fit (into the base...the plug's connection should be tight, which it is. Just not the hole in the base for it).

There are no faults with the figure otherwise! Recommended for any BRS collection, or just to have on her own.

Thanks for looking! Feel free to comment and I hope you enjoy the review! Be sure to check out the other reviews here: users.v4.php?mo...
